Soi Dog Foundation’s vision is simple: a world where every animal is treated with compassion. Across Thailand, they work to protect street dogs and cats who are injured, abandoned, or living without care—offering safety, healing, and a second chance.
Through rescue, veterinary care, and large-scale spay-and-neuter programs, Soi Dog works alongside communities and advocates for animal welfare—addressing both immediate suffering and the long-term causes of overpopulation.
Recovery is not only physical; music therapy plays an important role in helping animals feel calm and secure as they heal from trauma, reinforcing trust and emotional well-being. Alongside hands-on care, Soi Dog is committed to lasting change.
Through education, advocacy, and efforts to end the illegal dog meat trade, they work toward a future where fewer animals are born into suffering, and more are given the opportunity to live healthy, protected lives.

The Film
“
For being such diehard dog lovers, spending a couple of days with the heroic team at Soi Dog’s main facility in Phuket was a dream experience for our crew. The joy and utter devotion of the amazing team in caring for each and every dog’s welfare were so striking.
But nothing could prepare us for the beauty and poignancy of the piano therapy session, where live, calming music was performed for all the dogs in attendance. Incredible!

Back in 2004, a tsunami that was called one of the deadliest natural disasters in history killed hundreds of thousands of people. Coastal ecosystems were decimated. So many communities lost everything.
And in all of this heartbreaking destruction, there were other victims wandering amid the rubble, wounded and starving. At that point, probably 60,000 free-roaming dogs in Phuket. So many animals have been displaced. Their natural food sources from the restaurants on the beaches are gone—all destroyed. It was sort of uncontrollable.
One organization was there for them… Soi Dog.
